From April 26 to 28, 2026, in the city of Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation, at the initiative of the National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics, the 12th International Mathematical Competition among students of higher education institutions of the Northern countries (12th Northern Countries Universities Mathematical Competition NCUMC-2026) was held. Students from the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, the International University for the Humanities and Development, the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University, the Institute of Engineering, Technical and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan, the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan, and the Oguz Khan University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan took part in this competition.
A student of the Faculty of Digital Technologies and Cybersecurity of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, Islam Hayytmuhammedov, and a student of the Faculty of Oil and Gas, Halmyrat Myratgeldiyev, delivered a successful performance at the competition and, in the individual ranking, took second place, winning silver medals. These achievements became a special gift to the significant 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence.
In this prestigious competition, held at the National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics, students from higher education institutions of the Republic of Austria, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Republic of Poland, the Republic of Slovenia, the Italian Republic, the Kingdom of Spain, the Federal Republic of Germany, and the French Republic took part.
The achievements obtained at the international level are the result of the state policy implemented in the field of education in our country. The victories achieved in the city of Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation, demonstrate the emergence of new talented young people in the scientific and educational sphere, as well as the international recognition of their knowledge and skills.
