Representatives from Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Energy, the State Energy Institute, the Yagshygeldy Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, and the Natural Gas Research Institute of the Turkmengas State Corporation are participating in an international research internship in Germany, according to the country’s International Information Center.
The program runs at Clausthal University of Technology from July 25 to August 16, and aims to leverage cutting-edge international practices, implement digital methods, and strengthen international cooperation.
During the three-week course, Turkmen specialists, together with German scientists, are studying issues of increasing the efficiency of renewable energy sources, reducing methane emissions, and applying artificial intelligence in industry.
Practical and lab sessions cover machine learning, neural network construction, data normalization, and the use of AI algorithms to predict photovoltaic system performance. Participants also conduct research in well integrity and extended reach drilling.
The final stage of the program includes a visit by the Turkmen delegation to a large German sulfur gas processing plant and green energy facilities. This internship is being implemented as part of the European Union and GIZ strategic project “Green Development of Turkmenistan: Policy Dialogue and Action on Climate Change for 2024–2029.”
