The “Astana AI Film Festival” (AAIFF)—the largest international festival for films created using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies—has concluded in Astana.
The competition received over 8,000 submissions from 125 countries, with 25 works selected for the final program. An international jury determined winners across five special categories: Best Character, Best Story, Best Visual Language, Best Director, and Best Concept.
The award for Best Character went to the comedy “It Was Just a Joke” by Myrzakhan Zhumakhan from Kazakhstan. Winners in the other categories included creators from China, Italy (in two categories), and the USA.
In addition to the competition program, the festival—held from October 1 to 3—featured business meetings and panel discussions involving creators and representatives of the creative industry.
