Helsinki, Finland, inaugurated the Kruunuvuorensilta Bridge (Crown Bridge) in April, marking it as one of the world’s longest pedestrian, cyclist, and public transport bridges at 1,191 meters (about 0.74 miles). Located over the sea, this car-free bridge connects the city center to the Laajasalo district.
The bridge’s height and gentle curve offer uninterrupted views of the Baltic Sea, the Helsinki skyline and nearby islands, making it especially appealing for sunrise and sunset walks. Reportedly, during its opening weekend, tens of thousands of locals and visitors turned up.
