The Turkmenistan Investment Forum 2026 continued in Ashgabat, bringing together government officials, international financial institutions, development organizations and business representatives.
The Turkmenistan Investment Forum 2026, held at the “Ýyldyz” Hotel in Ashgabat on October 1–2, focused on investment cooperation, economic diversification, innovation and sustainable development.
The session brought together representatives of the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, UNIDO, Turkmenistan’s government institutions and private-sector organizations.
A discussion at the forum in Session 6 was about “Strategic direction for economic diversification. Cooperation with international financial institutions and development partners.” The session discussed actively utilizing opportunities to effectively benefit from Turkmenistan’s existing competitive advantages. Digital transformation and raising the living standard of the population served as the primary force for sector growth, exploring innovative approaches.

A discussion of the forum in Session 8 was about “Innovation, Finance technologies, Digital and Green Transformations for Sustainable Development.” Participants discussed the role of innovation, digital technologies and financial solutions in supporting sustainable economic development. The use of artificial intelligence in the economy, neural network development, and digital transformations enabled the economy to operate much faster and more effectively, while simultaneously setting environmental goals for scientific growth. A green transition included developing solar and wind energy, as well as switching to environmentally clean technologies. It aimed to reduce carbon gas emissions and protect nature.
At the forum, the role of investment in Turkmenistan’s economic growth was highlighted. It showed an average annual GDP growth of 7.7% between 2010 and 2025, with capital accumulation identified as a major contributor to growth. The presentation also emphasized the need to transform accumulated investment and infrastructure into higher productivity and more employment.
