A training session was held on the central pitch of the Ashgabat multifunctional stadium as part of the international “FIFA Football for Schools” initiative, according to the Turkmenistan International Information Center.
The project, implemented with the participation of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Education, aims to develop youth sports and integrate football into the school curriculum.
Representatives of the relevant federation, physical education teachers from all regions of the country, and young footballers from leading clubs participated in the training. The highlight was a master class with renowned footballer Hristo Stoichkov, who arrived in Ashgabat as part of a FIFA expert delegation.
During the session, he presented practical and theoretical recommendations, demonstrated tactical schemes, and elements of preparation for professional matches.
A separate section was dedicated to teacher training. The teachers were introduced to modern FIFA methods aimed at developing playing skills and leadership qualities in schoolchildren.
The FIFA Football for Schools program aims to identify talented players, strengthen social ties, and promote team sports. Students will receive lessons on the rules of the game and discipline.
The initiative is expected to have a long-term impact on the physical education system and contribute to the further development of football in the country.
